Wise Hope Shelter & Crisis Center is a haven for individuals and families facing domestic violence and abuse. They offer critical support services, including shelter, counseling, legal assistance, and resources to help survivors rebuild their lives. The demand for these services is ever-present, yet most sources of funding can only be allocated toward the agency’s operational needs. Year in and year out, the need for facilities improvements to their shelter and outreach centers goes unmet. Wise Hope’s most pressing need is to upgrade and expand their Outreach Center. Through the help of Walking for Wise organizers, Wise Hope recently received a donation of building planning services aimed at helping them conceptualize such a project. For $400,000, this updated and expanded building would allow them to better service their growing client base with new office and counseling rooms, expanded parking, increased storage as well as ADA-compliant bathrooms.
